I’d like to invite you to come with me on a journey back to the year 2000. The Flintstones were having a blast in Rock Vegas, I was skipping college classes to go buy used cds, and Invader Zim wasn’t even a twinkle in the eyes of Hot Topic shoppers around the globe.
Why is the year 2000 significant? Because it’s the last time I was even moderately invested in a new album from Soulfly. But somehow, Max Cavalera has managed to turn back the hands of time and release a heavy, thrashy record that’s surprisingly good AND fun to listen to.
I know what you’re thinking, and I’m right there with you—I can’t believe I’m typing any of this either.
